Around the World in 5 Days

This week the classes in Team 4 took a journey around the globe looking at some of the wonders of the world! On Monday we travelled to Egypt to learn about the Great Pyramid of Giza. We couldn't believe just how massive these pyramids were, and how big the stones were they used to make them.

Here is some of Emeline's research on the Pyramids

Tuesday saw us visit the Great Wall of China, and marvel and how long it was, and just how much work it would have taken to complete! What a mission, but what a wonder! Here is some excellent research done by Lynch.

The Statue of Liberty was our next stop, in the wonderful New York City - we talked about friendship, and the giving of gifts (The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of France, to the people of the USA representing their bond) and what freedom meant.

Check out Naomi's awesome drawing of the Statue of Liberty!

Our final case study was on a natural wonder - the Amazon Rainforest! This was definitely my favourite of the places we have visited because, just like the rainforest, I too am from South America! Here is some of Kolotita's work on the Amazon Rainforest!

Make sure you visit their blogs, and leave some positive comments! They've been working so hard, and learning so much!

My name is Vivian. I am a student in Manukau at Waikowhai School.

I really liked how you showed and told people what you are learning about. You also gave information about the Amazon Rainforest, the Statue of Liberty, and the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Something you could do differently is by making the font and picture a bit bigger because it is hard to read.

Why did you make a picture of the Statue of Liberty?

Thanks so much for sharing your learning, if you want to visit the Te Waka Ako syndicate blog at https://wpstewakaako.blogspot.com/ . Thank you for sharing what you are learning or doing in school.

    Bye and blog you later

And from the look and sound of the pyramids of Giza, that would be my favourite place in the around the world trip. Have you thought about saying one of the people who built the great Wall of China? Any who it was fun reading about all your amazing trips in under 5 days. Ngamihi, Valerie.

I really liked that you travel around the world to look at landmarks.
